July 2025: Jax Salguero, Grace Kokasko, Ally Johnston, and Julia Buck gave talks/posters at the American Society of Parasitologists conference in Winston-Salem. This was Grace's and Ally's first conference!
April 2025: Undergraduate student Ally Johnston was offered and has accepted a paid summer internship with the UNCW Marine Mammal Stranding Program. Congrats Ally!
February 2025: Dr. Buck gave an invited seminar at Utah State University and then played in the snow all weekend: snowshoeing near Bear Lake, cross country skiing near Logan (Dr. Buck's first time on skis!), and spectating a skijoring competition! Thanks so much to host/friend/collaborator/co-author Dr. Sara Weinstein for the invitation!
February 2025: Former honors student Sebrina Brooks will be starting a PhD in the Safran lab at CU Boulder in the fall. Congrats Sebrina!

November 2024: PhD student Jax Salguero traveled to Perth, Australia for the Society of Marine Mammalogy conference. She gave a talk entitled Molecular characterization and evolutionary relationships of Crassicauda spp. (Nematoda: Spirurida) infecting cetaceans of the Northwest Atlantic.
August 2024: Grace Kokasko joined the lab as a new PhD student. Grace recently completed her MS degree at Hofstra University (advisor: Jason Williams) and will be working on direct and indirect effects of parasites for her PhD. Welcome Grace!
